Are Bath Taps Different to Basin Taps?

  You use bath taps to fill up bathtubs. On the other hand, basin taps are used on basins. They have a lot of similarities and differences. Bath taps are a lot bigger than basin taps. You would be able to use them in basins, however, they would look odd. The second difference is the thread size. Bath tabs have a ¾ thread, while basin taps have ½. If you were to use one type in place of the other, you would need to make sure it fits. You also don't have floor-mounted basin taps but you do have floor-mounted bath taps.
